The specially developed electronics inside the GPO regulator are optimally designed for electronic ignitions that generate high voltage peaks. In various load tests, other limiters showed significant weaknesses in direct comparison with the GPO regulator, as they were often no longer able to regulate the voltage reliably after a short time. The GPO voltage limiter, on the other hand, was consistently convincing. The highest measured voltage peak was only 14 V, which is absolutely within the normal range for 12-volt devices.
